Vikram Bhatt’s previous film Ankahee flopped at the box office. But Vikram is working hard on his new projects. His next film Speed is being produced by Harry Baweja. There was a promotional video shot for the film and the entire starcast of the film was present. Strangely everyone was talking in hushed tones about a mobile number which was the topic of discussion in the video too.
“This song is for the end titles. When the film is over this song will play and then you will understand it,” says Bhatt. “It is about a mobile number because the whole film a lot around a mobile phone,” says Urmila Matondkar.
“The whole movie starts with one phone call that is made and basically there’s something very terrible about to happen and this man doesn’t know what,” says Zayed Khan quite in sync with the plot of the film. Amrita Arora finds the entire episode very funny, “After this song the number will become very popular and the producer will receive a lot of calls. The number belongs to him,” she guffaws.
Speed is an action thriller and has Urmila Matondkar, Zayed Khan, Aftab Shivdasani, Sanjay Suri and Amrita Arora. These five characters do not know each other, but something does connect them. The mobile number? “These people are connected by something and the phone number plays an important role in it,” adds Bhatt.
Urmila is not ready to talk too much “It’s a totally on the edge film. It will keep you on the edges of your sets as the pace is quite hot. You can’t think much during the film as it is quite fast like the title – Speed.”
The film has a lot of action as well.” We’ve done a lot of action in London and there’s a fight between me and Sophie and she is supposed to be trained in Kung Fu. The basic thing is that the film has a story running into six hours. We have condensed it and made it speedily into two and a half hours. That’s reason enough for you to see the film,” says Zayed Khan.
