Shah Rukh back with Amitabh, desperate measures after Salman and Akshay threat
King Khan of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan is so worried about his crown being snatched that he is now willing to work with father and son duo Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan.
Shah Rukh has not had the best of times recently, what with half the Bollywood industry siding with fellow actor Salman Khan and the recent continues Box Office success of Akshay Kumar. Since the spat with Salman at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party, most of the big-wigs in Bollywood have been made to take sides, with the majority choosing Salman Khan. Now add to that the meteoric rise of fellow charismatic actor Akshay Kumar, who has had near to 5 back-to-back hits, and is now being termed as the new King of Bollywood… Shah Rukh is indeed getting a little agitated. Therefore, he has put a plan of his own into action… he needs to come back with a bang… and for that he has asked his old friend and mentor Yash Chopra to help out.
Shah Rukh has approached Yash, with whom he last worked in 2004 for Veer Zaara, and has requested him to direct a film for 2009. Not only that but Shah Rukh wants Yash to get veteran actor and Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan to work side-by-side with him in the film. Says a source, “Shah Rukh and Amitabh have been sharing cold vibes for a good while now and have refused to work with each other. But now that there is an emerging threat of Shah Rukh being dethroned from the Bollywood Empire as King by Akshay Kumar, desperate measures have to be taken. So if that means shaking hands with another enemy… then that be it.
“Shah Rukh has already talked with Yashji and has pleaded with him to write up a script that will help him reclaim his King status. Shah Rukh also asked Yashji if he could get Amitabh on board. Yash said that would be difficult as Amitabh is refusing to appear in any film for a big banner without his son Abhishek. However if Shah Rukh agrees to let Abhishek have some screen space in the film also then this would not be a problem” continued the source.
When contacted, Monica Bhattacharya, official spokesperson of Yash Raj Films, says, “Yashji is busy finalising the script of his film but he has not finalised the cast yet. He will speak to the actors only when the script is ready. As of now he is busy with Aditya Chopra’s film, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.”
