Dilip Kumar to return, Ranbir and Imran to co-star with him
Forget Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan or Akshay Kumar… for the greatest actor in Indian film history is about to make his return… who are we talking about… well Dilip Kumar of course.
Talented and much appreciated filmmaker Subhash Ghai has managed to get the thespian to make a comeback into Bollywood and the film go into production as early as next year. Says Subhash Ghai, “I had always wanted him (Dilip Kumar) to work again and why not? He has been a great actor and can still do wonders. Dilip Saab has kept himself away from the scene for many years. But I was persistent and kept insisting that he should start working once again and Dilip Saab agreed. We share a great comfort level; he has worked with me in three films – Vidhata, Karma and Saudagar. I explored a subject and a plot that would suit his calibre and legendary stature, and I am working on the script right now.”
No other names have been mentioned of Dilip’s co-stars in the film but we have learnt that youngsters Imran Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapur are being targeted. Apparently the film will be about an old man who has three grandsons, each on very different paths of life. One is police officer, the other a thief and the third insane. Dilip’s character has to decide which one to leave his money to.
