Lara Dutta takes to scriptwriting, writes 2 films for herself
Sexy and sultry actress Lara Dutta has turned scriptwriter so that she can show off her acting capabilities.
Lara has said that she never seems to get the serious roles and her fans are not getting to see the actress behind all the sex… it is because of this that she has decided to write the perfect script for herself. The script is all but complete and she is now on the lookout for a director. As expected she will finance the film herself.
When asked why she doesn’t take the helm of director herself, Lara responds, “No I’m not ready to direct yet. I’ve completed two drafts, and I think it needs one more draft and then I’ll be ready. Scriptwriters in Bollywood aren’t writing anything in-depth for women. Invariably, the scripts glorify the hero while the lead actress only remains his love interest. And the women-oriented films are half-baked attempts at feminist statements. Both are uninspiring to me.”
Lara has also stated that the film will be a commercial entertainer and not an arty drama. Shooting will begin as soon as a director is in place.
