The TV princess Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms is ready with the new flick, ‘C Kkompany’, the comic caper. Comedy is what considers to be the selling formula in Bollywood but does every filmmaker succeeds in it? The answer is strictly ‘No’ because sometimes it is the audiences who bring success for you even though your product is ordinary and sometimes you get success with your excellent work. But talking about C Kkompany, it’s a strict average comedy, which has no sparks at all to impress the viewers. The brainless flick, the movie totally lacks consistency.
The reel unzips with the stereotypical style. Three individuals who are in desperate need of money. These three live in the ‘C’ wing of a middle class housing society. Akshay (Tushaar Kapoor) is a rime reporter. Mr. Joshi (Anupam Kher) is a retired accountant who tries to deal with his unappreciative son and Lambodar (Rajpal Yadav). He is low in self esteem as he is ridiculed by everyone including his better half and son. It’s all due to his short height and job.
Akshay is in love with Raima Sen, who plays don Dattu Satellite’s (Mithun Chakraborty) sister. The film has nothing novel to offer. The same tested formula has been used to make a script on. It talks about the losers who attain the power overnight.
One day, these three stooges play a harmless prank to tackle their problems. Soaked in despair, the trio makes a hoax call to Joshi’s son and ask for extortion money posing as a fictitious underworld gang called ‘C Kkompany’. Soon, this fabricated gang becomes the talk of the town. The three begin to use newly and accidentally acquired fame of C Kkompany to their benefit. They fasten to the belts to help common man through their con call warnings. In the midst, Dattu faces a business threat with the arrival of his rival in the underworld and the trio has the entire nation talking about them.
Sachin Yardi, the writer turned debutante director works well with some funny sequences but he could not manage the whole movie to glide well with the viewers on screen. Yardi could also not impress the audience on writing front. The script is a big letdown. The humour quotient is not alive on the narrative. The music by Anand Raj Anand and Bappi Lehri is mundane. The cinematography is passable.
Tusshar Kapoor is just about okay. Anupam Kher is brilliant. Mithin Chakraborty enacts the job well. Rajapl Yadav is adequate. Raima Sen does not raise the spirits. The special appearances by Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar do not impress.
On the whole, with a letdown script and ordinary performances, C Kkompany is strictly a mundane enterprise.
RS Rating: 1/5
