Shah Rukh refuses to do film for Farah because of Amitabh
Shah Rukh Khan is all but ready to work with director Farah Khan for a third time, after super hit Main Hoon Na and last year’s stupendous blockbuster Om Shanti Om… however there is a little hitch… and that hitch is Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
Farah, who delivered triplets earlier this year, now wants to restart production on Happy New Year, the film that she was supposed to make in place of Om Shanti Om. At that time, the film’s pivotal character was to be portrayed by Amitabh Bachcha, however he fell ill and the film was shelved. In its place Farah and Shah Rukh started working on Om Shanti Om.
Farah wants to start shooting for the film from middle of next year but the problem is the cold war between Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. The film’s main stars are both of them but the two haven’t been getting on well with each other recently. Hence, the hitch! Just like fellow director Karan Johar, Farah Khan is not willing to work for a film that doesn’t include Shah Rukh Khan, and Shah Rukh has said that he can’t share screen space on a large scale with Big B. One can recall that Shah Rukh and Amitabh did star in this year’s dud Bhoothnath, but the two hardly shared any joint scenes.
This has proven to be a dilemma for Farah, who has now gone back to the scripting table and changed the story of Happy New Year. The rumour is that Amitabh’s character might be replaced or re-cast. Farah has herself confirmed this, saying, “Yes, I am finally going ahead with Happy New Year. We have made some changes in the earlier script. The truth is, I wanted to make Happy New Year before Om Shanti Om. I plan to have an interesting cast along with Shah Rukh. But, I still haven’t decided how many of the actors will be established and how many will be newcomers.”

We have no idea as to just to what extent relationships between Amitabh and SRK are sour or not. They have both acted in large scale movies together and both have roles that do justice to their age. So that shouldn’t be a problem. Let us first know if they are not on speaking terms because of a good reason. The fact is that SRK-Farah like karan-SRK and Yashji-SRK are made for each other. Atleast so far their pairing has resulted in hits.
This has nothing to do with Big B’s larger than life talent.
Someone should resolve their differences. Amitabh is senior in age. SRK should pick up the phone and have a talk. Happy New Year can have both the talented duo. As for working in the same scenes what’s the big problem ?
Didn’t Dilip and Vyjayantimala appear in scenes together in several movies when they were not on talking terms( if the media report is true ) and you couldn’t tell the difference as for their superb exchange in acting.
I hope so. nothing is better than forgiving in friendship, but it seems too fresh and big issue at present.

I agree with Nazir. Forgiving is bigger and better attribute. These two legends should resolve their differences at least to the extent that they can work together. It is an absolute treat for the director to have them as part of the star cast and it is a double delight for the audience to watch the biggest and brightest stars to watch together. They need a diplomat to resolve their differences….have i heard somebody mentioning Yash raj.
I think SRK is jealous of AB. I have always felt that SRK thinks he is the best but what totally destorys his image is when he is compared to BIG,B, then people realise he is nothing.
Amitabh has been acting for 40 years, he has survived trends, fashions, fridays, hits, flops, stars, but yet is THE LEGEND of indian cinema!
SRK has tried his best to reach that level but will never reach it, he should accept that BIG.B was a one-off which will never happen again….
I was watching BIG.B celebrate his 65th birthday on starnews there was mass hystria outside his house as thousands of people tried to wish him. My question is, how many people will be outside SRKs house when he is 65???
I think what is really bugging SRK is that no matter what he does, no matter how big his films become he will always be rated behind Amitabh Bachchan when history of bollywood is written.
Its like a boxer trying to be bigger than Muhammad Ali, its simply not going to happen.

i think that Amitabh is over-rated, and should get over himself! There were other actors in his era who were better i.e Manoj Kumar etc and Amit can be easily replaced by any old buddah…
I think shahrukh & Amitabh, both are great actors. They should sort out whatever the problems between them & take another step in their life. We all wants to watch them together in the movie. Good luck to both of them for their bright future.

1) Shah Rurk Khan has been the Biggest Star in India for last 10 years
2) Amitabh is a legend, he cannot be replaced at the BIGGEST and GREATEST INDIAN Actor, especially with his versatility, even at this stage
3) Shah Rukh when compared with Amitabh, lacks behind,any day
4) Amitabh when compared with SRK on popularity charts, lags behind!
I think Bollywood is a business and there is no pace for Ego’s. If roping in both SRK and BIG B, ensures in big business, then she should go ahead! If you have to surive in the jungle, you have to bri-friend both the Lions!!

It is simple to calculate who is bigger…everybody compares shahrukh and big b, shahrukh and aamir, shahrukh and akshay, shahrukh and hrithik, so all of you can see that shahrukh is common here in all these comaparisons…no one compares hrithik with big b…or akshay with aamir or aakshay with big b…..in any field people always tend to compare one with the best in that field….for example, tiger woods in golf…m.schumaker in F1, mohammad ali in boxing and so on….so that means srk is the best in bollywood…hence proved

I would not have Amitabh in the movie. I would replace Amitabh with legend Dharmendra. Sharukh has already worked with Amitabh many times but he has not worked with Dharmendra so that would be a great change.
Dharmendra will be seen very soon in a movie called HAR PAL with Preati Zinta and Shiney Ahuja.

I agree with Kully. Dharmendra will be the next actor who could replace Amitabh in the film. He has replace Amitabh in Har Pal. And also as Kully said. Dharamji never worked with SRK. So it wil be good to see them together. Dharamji is a good actor. I wil hope to see this film with Dharmendra & SRK.
