The new King of Bollywood Akshay Kumar has further proven that he is now the undisputed Box Office champion as new release Singh Is Kinng breaks more records.
We can reveal that after only 13 days of release, the comic caper has passed the 1 million pound mark in the UK. Showing on 50 screens the film’s collections stand at a staggering £1.01m. This means that Akshay Kumar has joined the UK’s millionaire club for the first time, and top that with another 4 massive box office hits within 18 months (Namaste London, Heyy Baby, Bhool Bhullaiya, Welcome), this means he is truly the new King.
Singh Is Kinng kept it’s place in the elusive UK Box Office Top 10, at number 10, dropping only 4 places from last week.
This week’s big release the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Bachna Ae Haseeno, failed to make any news at it opened up at a lowly number 13. It’s takings for the weekend were well down compared to Singh Is Kinng, collection £100,693, compared to Singh Is Kinng’s 178,035.
