Vikram Bhatt is back on track once again with his formula of horror films. Produced and directed by Vikram himself, the film is the presentation of ASA Films Pvt. Ltd. Rajnesh Duggal, Adah Sharma and Anjori Alagh enact the lead protagonists in this offering. The hot musician Adnan Sami has been roped into score the music whereas the lyricist Sameer, who has been with Adnan for many of his hit albums, writes the lyrics. Big Music is behind the release of this soundtrack.
1920 is a period film and expectations are huge with the musician and the lyricist as to whether they will be able to create the magic as per the environment. Let’s hope for the best.
1): Vaada Tumse Hai Vaada (Pandit Jasraj)
The moment the listener reads the name of the singer for this number, the happiness oozes out since he is credible as far as the singing is concerned. He croons the track with his usual conviction and attracts the ears. Not a classical song (as Pandit is known hugely for his classical base), it is a melodious outing with Adnan’s trademark style. The western and Indian arrangements’ fusion gel well with the mood of the song. The girls’ chorus of ‘Vaada’ is a treat to hear. The lyrics and the music both are fabulous. Go for the repeated hearings.
Rating: 8.5/10
2): Vaad Tumse Hai Vaada (Parveen Sultana) – Repeat Version
The song is repeated on the list and this time the new name comes up to deliver the goods. Parveen Sultana gets behind the mike and justifies the job. Adna’s music is a class to enjoy with.
Rating: 8.5/10
3): Bichua (Shubha Mughal)
Next on the album you find none other than Shubha Mughal, who warbles the track. ‘Bichua’ is the item number, which is lareday running and creating ripple on all the music channels these days featuring the hot item girl Rakhi Sawant shaking the legs. The choreography and the picturisation look crispy. Rakhi too performs the dance steps brilliantly creating the real rustic mood. Shubha raises the blood level in the veins with her marvelously done singing. In the background, the listener hears the sound ‘Dhola Dhola’, which completely destroys the song’s value. Adnan and Sameer’s tasks on the music side are worthy to rave about.
Rating: 6.5/10
4): Bichua (Shubha Mughal) – Remix Version
The number repeats on the album as a remix version. A fast pace track, the western arrangements aptly fit well and glide on your ears. An appealing effort…go for it.
Rating: 7/10
5): Aisa Jalta Hai Jiya (Asha Bhonsle)
The legendary Asha Bhonsle has been invited to trill the song, ‘Aisa Jalta Hai Jiya’. Seemingly, a situational number, the song is sung superbly by the virtuoso. Smi uses his intelligent brain fabulously and Sameer too does not leave any stone unturned to impress.
Rating: 8/10
6): Tujhe Main Pyar Karu (Kailash Kher)
The song begins with the luminous piece of piano played adroitly. Yes, you love to hear it. Later Kailash Kher holds the miketo croon the lines. He does not bring that magic to this song, for which he is know. The slow paced track carries the averagely written lyrics and the mundane composed music. The song has every ingredient to spoil your pleasures, which were pretty good with the earlier tracks. Skip it immediately.
Rating: 2/10

7): 1920 – Theme
The most wonderful piece of work on the album is the theme of 1920 orchestrated by none other than the maestro of music Adnan Sami. The sounds of piano laced with the playing of violins inject sugar in ears. Do hear it time and again to entice your soul, which turned bad with the previous track. A great job to conclude the album.
Rating: 8/10
Conclusion:
The soundtrack of 1920 is mellifluous except for one or two songs, which ruin the pleasures. The extensive publicity is widely needed to generate the big sale at the stands (as it is not being witnessed). Otherwise, the remarkable efforts of Adnan, Sameer and the makers would go waste.
