The leading superstar of Indian cinema continues to rule the throne at such an age and has been voted the Indian of the year in a leading newspaper. The actor won the honour after leaving behind biggies like Sachin Tendulkar and Sonia Gandhi.
Amitabh seems to be a popular among the housewives who gave him the maximum of 19 votes along with high voting count from age group of 35-45 yrs. The survey was done in the big cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore with 1005 people.
Out of the voters, 15% voted for Big B and 5% voted for Sachin and Sonia Gandhi for the leading Indian of the year. He got the maximum votes of 31% in the capital. Congress president Sonia Gandhi was voted higher than the Prime Minister himself. Steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, Ash and Abhi followed in the list with 4% each.
