Excel Films’ forthcoming venture is ‘Rock On’, which is directed by Abhishek Kapoor and stars the likes of Farhan Akhter, Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli, Luke Kenny, Shahana Goswani and Koel Puri. The most important element of this film is Farhan Akhtar, who is making his acting debut in Bollywood with this outing and the audience will also be seeing the hottie TV actress Prachi Desai making her Bollywood debut with this front of ‘Rock On.
Storyline:
Joe Mascarenhas (Arjun Rampal) is an idealist. He is a man of few words. His guitar is all for him since he talks less so he lets his guitar talk all the time. He has a girlfriend. He shows his loyalty towards her and his band (music group) and that makes him the hero. God has granted him all the talent but forgot to give him an opening to share it. Joe is the lead guitarist of his band.
KD – Kedar Zaveri (Purab Kohli) likes to be known as ‘Killer Drummer’. He is the scion of a successful jeweler family. He doesn’t see eye to eye to his father on most of the issue. While playing on stage, he seems as if he is slamming the drums with utter vengeance but actually he is just breathing.
Rob Nancy (Luke Kenny) is the laid back quiet fence sitter of the music group. If there emerges a disagreement, Rob is always there to resolve the problem. He loves the band and his friendship with the guys. His keyboard is an extension of his mind.
Aditya Shroff (Farhan Akhtar) is the enthusiastic guy who is passionate about music. He leaves the comforts of his parents’ home to make it big in the music industry with the rock band. He has a knack in poetry. He has a message for the young youth in his poetry that makes him an instant hit with Generation X. He is the pivotal singer of the band called ‘Magic’.
The film revolves around four guys who put their efforts to make the band the country has ever seen but never make it. Years later their fate brings them together again and put them on a journey back to where they had left.
