Rose Movies in association with Eros Entertainment present ‘Drona’, which is the production of Shristi Arya. Directed by none other than Goldie Behl, the film features the likes Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Kay Kay Menon and Jaya Bachchan in the leading roles. Revolving around the thriller and fantasy genre, the flick is expected to create ripples at the box office. But wait…before we make the point that Drona is novel and innovative in terms of subject. No…it’s not at all…since we have been witnessing horde of Bollywood films based on the themes of superheroes and science fiction. Recently we watched Krrish and Love Story 2050. It all depends on the audiences’ reaction whether they like the product or not…but if the product carries weight … then what is the point of not liking it….? After all our today’s audience is not born yesterday and has mind to think of and understand the difference between good or bad. So, if the good scripted Krrish with impressive star cast can create magic at the box office then Drona too could do….but it all will be depending on the healthy script, good direction and power packed performances. Hope the huge expectations of the moviegoers would be fulfilled.
Storyline:
The film begins with the times, when time itself takes birth. The universe keeps one secret very carefully cloaked within its folds. This secret is what if tattered could bring about the reason of the destruction of the entire mankind and the whole of cosmos.
Unzips … the today’s world, there is only one man who can protect this precious secret of the universe. And he is the one who can save the entire human race from the utter obliteration. He is Drona (Abhishek Bachchan), the superhero.
Rooted in the vibrant tapestry of Indian mythology, Drona talks about the compelling modern tale of one man’s astonishing journey through the mazes of mystic myths and the legendary legacies. This journey will force Drona to bump into his fears. It will make him the hero, he was born to become.
The good and evil clash in this contemporary fantasy tale (this reminds us of the flick ‘Rudraksh’ where good fights with evil…Sanjay Dutt v/s Suniel Shetty) and the viewer reaches at the world of mythic heroes and malicious magicians. A world, where spells can turn live-flesh into cold stone. A world, whose whispers lay closely guarded in a land of mirages. A world, which flourishes with thrills. A world that is laced with the mystical magic. A world where there exist daring adventures and fantastic folklores. This is the world of Drona.
The film is a glossy twenty first century saga that makes its journey across continents but is deeply Indian.
Other Credits:
Ashu Dhruv has been roped in to score the music for this film’s album. Sameer Arya dolls up the cinematography. For the action sequences, Shyam Kaushal and Tom Delmar have been hired to smarten up the job. Goldie Behl himself along with Joydeep Sarkar pen in the screenplay. Anaita Shroff Adajania is the creative head behind the costumes of this flick.
