Priyadarshan’s much-anticipated and expensive movie of the year opened to good audience turn-out at most circuits across the country. The last biggie of the year is proving to be a crowd-puller with 60-65% collections which a bit low than the expected for this laugh-riot.
The film has a dark side to it as well. The murder mystery wrapped up in good comic timing is doing well with the audience but it has got a shaky start as it got 50% opening which came up to over 60% by the evening. In Mumbai, the film got above average opening and was distributed by the Ashtvinayak producers-distributors. The film got a packed-house opening in the Northern India especially the state of Uttar Pradesh.
In the capital the movie is doing exceptionally well as the big releases like Dhoom 2 and Kabul Express are yet to screen at the multiplexes. In central India, the collections have picked from an average 40% to much higher %ages.
The film is expected to do good business at the Christmas weekend and may show good opening collections. But, the litmus test lies right ahead after that.
