Aleya Motion Magic and Eros Entertainment’s Hijack’s music has been released and is available on all the music stands. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Kunal Shivdasani, the film has also been directed by the debutante director Kunal Shivdasani himself. The star cast includes the names of Shiney Ahuja, Esha Del, KK Raina and Kaveri Jha. The music has been composed by the new to the Bollywood scene Justin and Uday. The lyricist of this music album is Kumaar. It’s not an easy job to score the music for an action film. But we have witnessed, nonetheless, a few who have mastered in this art of stockpiling the hummable tunes for the action genre movies. Among them, Sanjay Gupta leads the row. The soundtrack has been released by the Eros Music.

1) Aksar (KK)

The album stars well with a melodious romantic number, ‘Aksar’ sung by none other than KK, who enacts the singing job with much aplomb. The musical arrangements in the background appeal to the soul that you love to stay with. The lyrics by Kumaar attract to the ears. So does the spongy composition by the duo of Justin and Uday. A good beginning in every sense of the word.

Rating: 7.5/10

2) Aksar – The Unplugged Version (Shaan)

The song is repeated on the album thrice. So it means, in total, there are four versions of this track including the original one. Shaan has been roped in to croon the lines. It’s a guitar based song and you love to hear the excellently played strings of guitar. Shaan’s voice injects sugar in ears. The song is a treat to hear.

Rating: 7.5/10

3) Aksar – Sad Version (Shaan)

Shaan moors the belts once again to impress his fans with his exemplary rendition. The lyrics and compistion gel well with the mood of this sad version.

Rating: 6.5/10

4) Aksar – Remix Version (KK and Joi)

The remix version features the likes of KK and Joi. Both do great with the vocal job. The remix attracts but not up to that standard, the listener of today (as the remixes have improved a lot and the listener hears the whopping amount of the remixes daily done by various composers) would like to go with putting his ears on. You like to be with this version only once.

Rating: 3/10

5) Dekh Dekh (Sunidhi Chauhan, Sugan Jagan and Joi)

A thoroughly rhythmic dance track, ‘Dekh Dekh’ stars Sunidhi Chauhan, Sugan Jagan and Joi to warble the words. The fire-like voice singer Sunidhi Chuahan holds the center stage by giving the listener an electrifying piece of singing. Sugan Jagan and Joi chip in little on the song’s flow. But they doll up their parts well. A western ilk of song, the beats in the background stick out but the most appealing ones are drums and plates. The lyrics and composition make the mood happy also. It will grow with the listener if promoted well on the channels.

Rating: 7/10

6) Dekh Dekh – Club Mix (Sunidhi Chuahan and Joi)

Next comes the Club Mix version of this number. The faster paced track seems utterly below average on ears and may go well at the night clubs only.

Rating: 2.5/10

7) Koi Na Jaane (KK and Shilpa Rao)

You are offered a situational track next on the album. ‘Koi Na Jaane’ comes up with KK and Shilpa Rao to give their credits as the singers on the play list. We have just heard Shilpa crooning the chartbuster ‘Khuda Jaane’ for the movie, ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and now she returns with ‘Koi Na Jaane’ where she does not get a full scope to deliver her histrionics. Yes, she gets to sing only the alaap in the beginning. The rest of the number is handed over to KK (well, he does brilliant as usual). Wonder, why the talented Shilpa has not been given more opportunity to display her prowess in the song? Musicians…note it… ‘Give her the share always, she deserves’. The lyrics depict that the protagonist comes under the brooding situation and wants the direction from The Almighty. Kumaar raises the spirits as a lyricist whereas the duo of Justin and Uday’s assignment as the composers go well too.

Rating: 6.5/10

8)- Theme of Hijack (Suraj Jagan and Uday)

The ‘Theme of Hijack’ winds up the album with Suraj Jagan and Uday taking charge of the singers. The Hinglish number is sung well by the duo. The song is hard rock based with lost of western instruments played on the flow like electronic plates, drums, guitars and others. Well, the instruments do thrill your bodies but in totality the track has no sparks to listen it repeatedly. It needs just one go.

Rating: 2.5/10

Conclusion:

The soundtrack of ‘Hijack’ is just about passable. ‘Aksar’, ‘Dekh Dekh’ and ‘Koi Na Jaane’ are the picks of the lot. Rest of the album spoils your mood. A good sale is very difficult so the makers can hardly find any smile on their face.

Overall Rating: 3.5/10
