Kabir Khan’s movie on the Talibanism in Afghanistan and its people is all set to release in the land of contention. Kabul Express was acclaimed by critics world over and will now release at the theatres for the local people in Afghanistan.
The John Abraham and Arshad Warsi starrer movie is the first movie shot in the post-Taliban Afghanistan. Its release in the theatres of Afghanistan is kind of a token of respect from the film-maker’s side to the hospitality shown by the Afghanis. Yash Raj Films will send complimentary print of Kabul Express to Afghanistan by next week.
On the film’s release in Afghanistan, Afghani actor Hanif Humghum who plays an important role in the movie, says that, ”the screening of the film in Afghanistan will provide the local people there with a golden opportunity to watch their favourite Bollywood stars in action. During their rule, the Taliban destroyed most of the cinema halls in Afghanistan and drove Afghani actors out of the country, thus denuding the local film industry,” he said.
