Vijayta Films returns with yet another offering, ‘Chamku’ directed by Kabeer Kaushik with the catchy star cast ranging from Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra to Ritish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi to Arya Babbar and Irrfan Khan. The music giant T-Series releases the album, which has just hit the stands. Monty Sharma, after winning hearts with the melodious tunes of Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Saawariya’, takes the musician’s chair whereas the veteran lyricist Sameer holds the pen to dash off the lyrics for this film soundtrack. The promos have been running on all the music channels. Although the promotional activities are ON, but there have not been witnessed much waves of promotion in the media (which are normally seen by the movie makers). Lack of promotion does bring tough competition at the box office and ofcourse for the music as well. It’s not new since it happens with Vijaya Films always as they churn out the projects with low budget. Thus it is obvious when the budget is low then you cannot go for the heavy publicity. Lets check it out what the music has to offer….
1): Aaja Milke (Shreya Ghoshal and Shail)
The album begins with a spongy romantic song, ‘Aaja Milke’, which features the sweet voiced Shreya Ghoshal who croons it with much conviction. Superb singing by Ghoshal, the number is about the togetherness of the lovers. Shail impresses with his rendition also. The background arrangements appeal to the ears. The lyrics penned by Sameer are splendid whereas the music composed by Monty Sharma is a class to talk about. A decent track, it deserves repeated hearings.
Rating: 9/10

2): Kithe Jawan (Richa Sharma)
Rich Sharma is fabulous when it comes to painful songs. Here with this sad number, she appears to be a singer of class as usual. Rendered exceptionally, Sharma ceases the breath-flow of the listeners who applaud her skills while hearing the track. Sameer fetches the distinction marks for his extra-ordinary poetry and Monty wins the hearts with the creatively and very aptly scored composition. Hear it time and again.
Rating: 9/10
3): Gola Gola (Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Vaishali Samant)
Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Vaishali Samant team up to warble the lines of ‘Gola Gola’, which is smartly scribbled down by Sameer, masterly composed by Monty and brilliantly sung by both the vocalists. It’s a Holi number and can only get popular amongst the listeners provided that the choreography and the picturisation of the track are eye pleasing. Because whether or not these ilk of songs carry great compositions, creative lyrics and exceptional renditions, they run well with the listeners when they like the video of the songs. So, all depends on the video. Lets wait to watch that…!
Rating: 7/10
4): Trance (Saleem Shahzada, Soumya Roah and Anaida)
Following next is an altogether different song, which has been targeted to send chill through the listeners’ bodies. Yes, you are offered to hear a fast paced number to shake your hips on…! ‘Trance’ is a song laced with the Western arrangements to give you a great joy ride. Saleem Shahzada, Soumya Roah and Anaida have been roped in to chip in this track. All do justice with their jobs to make the song a treat to listen to. The lyrics and the music score glide on ears too and add real spices to the song’s pleasure. A true companion to hear it with full volume in your car while driving and in the nightclubs to bop with full swing, the song surely helps you press the repeat button.
Rating: 8.5/10

5): Bin Daseyaa (Richa Sharma)
Richa once again injects saccharine pleasures in your ears. A worthy track to be with it swathed with good lyrics and music.
Rating: 7/10
6): Dukh Ke Badri (Kalpana, Parthiv Goel and Shail)
The trio comes up to render the slow paced number, ‘Dukh Ke Badri’, which has a rustic feel attached to it. The singing is just passable. Sameer with the pen and Monty with his musical instruments try to gel with the mood of the song but hardly succeed in their effort. It is an average number and can go with the listener at least for once. It is not a good work to conclude the album.
Rating: 5/10

Conclusion:
‘Chamku’ is a mellifluous soundtrack by the house of Vijayta Films. Monty Sharma deserves applauds for his dexterity, which he has used in scoring this soundtrack. Huge publicity can surely bring more fruitful results not only to the album but to the film also.
