Mani Ratnam has been known for the dubbing of his movies in southern languages for long. From the early days of Roja to his latest release Guru, Mani has got his films dubbed in the southern languages for his down south fan-club.
The much-awaited and anticipated movie of 2007, Guru is set to hit the theatres as early as January. Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam is getting his yet-to-be-released film to be dubbed in Telegu. The Telegu version of the Aishwarya-Abhishek starrer will be titled Gurukanth. The rights of the Telegu version have been acquired by southern producer Janapriya Prasad.
But, will A.R. Rahman compose songs for the Telegu version as well? In the past, the ace music composer has provided compositions even for the dubbed versions like Roja, Bombay et al. Well, we have to wait and watch if A.R. Rahman decides to entertain us more in a different tongue.
