Bollywood ‘badshah’ Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukherji have bagged Star Gold’s favourite hero and heroine respectively by fans at the Savlon Sabsey Favourite Kaun 2006 awards, which were held on 17 December, 2006 at Taj Land’s End in Mumbai.
Whereas Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘gandhigiri’ film Lage Raho Munnabhai, starring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi has been voted as the favourite film. Priyanka Chopra was voted as the Sabsey Tez Sitara by fans.
The Savlon Sabsey Favorite Kaun International 2006 Grand Finale was hosted by Ayesha Takia along with Ranvir Shorey, Vinay Pathak and Suresh Menon.
Comedy king Paresh Rawal was voted as the Sabsey Favourite Comic Hero. On the other hand Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu bagged the award for the Sabsey Favourite Nayi Heroine and Hero respectively.
The awards will be aired on Star Gold on 30 December at 8 pm. The event saw performances by Akshay Kumar, Bipasha Basu, Shiney Ahuja, Koena Mitra and Shreyas Talpade.
Star Entertainment India CEO Sameer Nair said, “The impact of Indian cinema on the audiences is evident by the overwhelming response that we have received year after year. This year we were not only able to capture the frenzy and fervor that our Bollywood actors command on a national level but also on an international scale.”
