Hindi release for 20th Century Fox film
Published by  Webmaster  at 04:52:41 pm on December 19, 2006

On 29 December, 2006, Twentieth Century Fox International will be releasing its film Museum Ke Andar Phas Gaya Sikandar, which is a slapstick comedy featuring Ben Stiller, Robin Williams and Owen Wilson. For the first time ever in the history of Indian cinema, Twentieth Century Fox will be releasing the film only in Hindi all over India.

The English version of the film is titled Night at the Musem.

The film will also be released in Tamil and Telegu in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh respectively. It will be released in metros, mini metros, B and C grade towns in over 300 screens across India.

Twentieth Century Fox marketing manager George John says, “Over the past three years, we have seen tremendous potential for Hollywood films in India. It is our endeavor to expand the market for Hollywood in India and to provide the best entertainment available to the family audiences in a language that cuts across all audiences.”

The Hindi script for Museum Ke Andar Phas Gaya Sikandar has been written by Kiran Kotrial and is voiced by Damandeep Singh, Anil Datt and Saurabh Agarawal for Ben Stiller, Robin Williams and Owen Wilson respectively. The script has been written keeping in mind Indian sensibilities interspersed with local wit and humour.

Adds John, “Museum Ke Andar Phas Gaya Sikandar is a comedy adventure film with state of the art special effects of the scale that’s not available in Indian films. It is our intention to give the movie audience for Museum Ke Andar Phas Gaya Sikandar the right kind of screens to enjoy the movie. As a result, the ambience will be right, language will not be a hindrance and the whole movie experience will be more enjoyable.”

  1. It’s fine if 20th Century Fox wants to reach out to Hindi audiences thru’ a dubbed version. But why deprive others who’d prefer to see the English language original? I don’t know if Gujju ben (and others) would like Ben (Stiller)chattering in Hindi… but I – and many other Hollywood enthusiasts for sure – would rather see the original when shelling out a cool Rs 200 at a multiplex…. R u tuned in Mr George John?

  3. [...] That was almost as fun as watching Ben Stiller roam the museum while babbling in Hindi: The Hindi script for Museum Ke Andar Phas Gaya Sikander has been written by Kiran Kotrial and is voiced by Damandeep Singh, Anil Datt and Saurabh Agarawal for Ben Stiller, Robin Williams and Owen Wilson respectively.
