Mani Ratnam’s Guru, supposedly based on the life and times of the late business tycoon Dhirubhai Ambani, will be dubbed and released in Telugu as Gurukanth.
A spokesperson from Mani Ratnam’s camp admits the development, saying, “South-based producer Janapriya Prasad has acquired the Telugu version rights. He will even have an audio of the Telugu version released by the year-end. The Telugu version will be released next year.”
Guru stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, R Madhavan, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty. The film is slated for release on 12 January, 2007 worldwide.
