John Abraham is venturing into a new territory with the launch of his designer label – John Abraham by Wrangler.
Abraham was roped in by the denim company Wrangler as their brand ambassador in 2005. Early this year, the actor and Wrangler announced the launch of a premium prêt denim line, making this the first of its kind venture in the Indian fashion industry.
In an event organised on 18 December, Abraham launched the line of clothing amidst friends, family members and the film fraternity. Says Abraham, “My association with Wrangler is not just a brand endorsement. It is a business association.”
He adds, “Though biking is my original passion, acting and fashion come a close second. The world of design and style has always fascinated me and earlier this year, I decided to develop this talent with help from Wrangler.”
Abraham and his design partners, Salli Deighton (Wrangler’s international designer) and Ramneel Walia (Indian designer) have put together a limited edition, which is an assortment of denims and non denims, for both men and women.
Pakistani band Strings performed live at the launch event, that was attended by personalities from the film industry including Hema Malini, Zayed Khan, Kabir Khan, Nikhil Advani, Rajkumar Hirani, Rohan Sippy, Sanjay Gupta, Ken Ghosh, Anurag Kashyap and Deepika Padukone.
