Dilli 6 manages to get shot in near vacant Times Square
Rakesh Omprakash Mehra’s Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor starrer Dilli 6 is near completion.
The director and crew have been busy shooting in a near-vacant Times Square USA where they had to seek special permission because of the overcrowding. A source from the line producers in NYC says, "UTV Motion Pictures and Rakeysh Mehra’s production people got in touch with our company a month or so ago and gave the brief that they wanted to shoot at Times Square when it was deserted; which is an impossible task. Even big Hollywood producers and directors can’t get it done. The production team told us that the scene they wanted was like the opening sequence of Tom Cruise’s movie Vanilla Sky."
They did manage to get permission and shot for 3 hours every night for 5 days to complete the 2 minute scene. The source continues, "The director was reluctant to share any details about the sequence. There was a high level of secrecy. Unit members on the sets were told not to carry their camera phones on the sets. And there was a person who could collect the phones of those entering the sets and they were only returned after pack-up."
Abhishek and Sonam were not required for the shoot hence they were not present.
