Zayed Khan clarifies on the Vivek Oberoi rumours
Star kid Zayed Khan has been talking about his biggest role to date, that in Apoorva Lakhia’s Mission Istaanbul.
The actor is very excited about the release, which is next week, and has visited a Dargah in Ajmer for blessings. He has also refuted claims that the role of his co-star Vivek Oberoi has been cut for his liking. Talking to an Indian newspaper, Zayed says, “All this talk is so childish. The film has turned out to be fantastic. I am the protagonist who serves as the catalyst. The script is well balanced and there’s scope for everyone. Apoorva and I share a good wavelength but that does not mean that I get more mileage. Ultimately, when the audience sees the film, they will know it is the performance that matters.”
In the film, Zayed plays the character of a TV journalist and is seen jumping off a fourth floor building. “Every director has his own vision. Some emphasise on the music, others on the costumes and sets. Apoorva is a visual director. He continuously wants movement and action. I had to jump off the fourth floor and with all the safety concerns, I found myself extremely comfortable doing stunts and my physique lends itself to it. So it was okay to jump from a building and come crashing through cardboard boxes. I can really push myself to the limit,” says Zayed.
Once Mission Istaanbul is released, Zayed will then begin preparing for the release of another action thriller, Blue. Talking about this, he says, “That is another film that I am looking forward to. It’s unbelievable what we have shot in the Bahamas in the deep seas. Though I am a certified scuba diver and learnt it years ago in Mauritius, shooting underwater for Blue was a singularly unique experience. Shooting underwater at a depth of 85 feet with sharks for company was some experience.”
