Talisman is a ripped from Lord Of The Rings

The recently released video promos of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Talisman, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt, have not gone down well with fans and critics alike.

Bollywood enthusiasts were expecting a fantasy adventure tale based on the epic Chandrakanta, however the trailers show that the film is inspired more by the Peter Jackson trilogy Lord Of The Rings. A source reveals, "Talisman is a high-budget fantasy action adventure film. There are huge battle scenes that will remind you of the ones in Fellowship of the Ring and Return of the King which are parts of Lord of the Rings. In fact, Vinod Chopra always dreamt of making something on the scale of an epic and he’s done that with Talisman."


Even the look of Amitabh Bachchan in the film is being compared to Ian McKellen’s character of the white wizard Gandalf. However, Vinod Chopra denies any similarities between Talisman and Lord of the Rings. "It’s not true. Lord Of The Rings is in a different league altogether. There cannot possibly be a comparison between Talisman and Lord Of The Rings," says Smriti Kiran, vice-president, strategy development, VCF.
