Each one of them takes a different take on the incident and gives his opinion about the same. The deceptive mirage created by Bose friends opens various routes to the goal. The uncertainty and lateral thinking takes its own height during the conversation.

The interpretation of various characters of the story has a few ups and many lows. The true essence of making the film is not achieved in the end. The questions cropped up by Inspector Bose are left unanswered. At some level, a feeling of satisfaction is not attained after watching the film.

Cinematography is not the one that was expected out of Via Darjeeling as the beauty of the hill station is not captured by Abhik Mukherjee. Arindam Nandy’s direction is average but his lack of grip and understanding of the subject is clearly witnessed in the film.

Actingwise, Kay Kay is true class. Sonali Kulkarni gets into the skin of the character. Vinay Pathak is good. Rajat Kapoor, Prashanth Narayanan, Sandhya Mridul and Simone Singh are outstanding in their roles.

However good the performances remain, the end of the story is that Via Darjeeling works for a very small audience. The meaning of the film is not delivered after watching it on the silverscreen. Catch it up on a DVD instead!
