Amitabh, Dilip, SRK all clearly legends. We hear people saying that Shahid is the next SRK and Aamir is like the next Dilip, this is a true litmus test if people compare new comers to you. And remember, we are taking about the greatest heros of all time, that why Naseerudin shah, Anupam Kher and Amrish puri aren’t mentioned. These 3 have the most hits in history. Of the young actors I feel that Abhishek is most gifted in acting, Guru, Yuva and Dhoom (particularly when paired with good directors) but I think Ranbir will come out on top because he seems to have the most friends in the industry.

Sharukh Khan is the best no matter what his critics say, he is superb in any kind of acting . He is the king of senti movies, he is the king of comedy, too, and there may not be too much arguement who the king in romance is, again King Khan. So Keep going SRK.

Dilip Kumar is a true legend and stands on the top. There are and will be no comparisons as there are never true comparisons to the one and only legend. Yes, other than that, you can say that Amitabh is a dream actor and has proved during his time. And now it is SRK. To be honest, no one comes close to SRK’s popularity and star power in this era, as of 2008. There are other great actors such as Amir and Hrithik, while Shahid Kapoor making his way up there but SRK stands tall and strong- King of bollywood. Stats speak for their selves my friends, don’t get personal. In conclusion, SRK nor Amitabh can be compared to Dilip Kumar. But truly, SRK is leading at the moment and by the time of his retirement, he will definitely be considered one of the most successful actors of Bollywood, if not a legend.

The person u calling a non-actor ( came from THEATRES ) were Ompuri, Nasiruddin shah acted with him. He made his name through TV serial FUAJI n Circus. ( did u ever see kabhi haan kabhi naa “) i am sure ….. it will prove his acting credntials.

When salman khan amir khan said no to NEGATIVE role .. it was SRK who took up baazigar and Darr then what happened is a history.

Well Amitabh was all about ” Angry young man ” Dilip kumar was tragedy KING. and AMITABH use to COPY DILIP SAHEB ” check with anybody in the world so did anil kapoor”.

If some 1 calls SRK as a STAR more than a actor prove me how ?? He has the biggest fan base ever in the history of indian cinema. People recognise him even in non english speaking country like china,thai,poland,germany … he is more popular than the likes of pitts & cruise (togethor)

IF CHAK DE india is blockbuster( without romancing or dancing ) its pure magic of SRK.

In bollywood after AMITABH there s no 1 who delivered the maximum hits n blockbusters.

I guess u r ANTI srk … to be honest SRK movies arent funded by any underground DONS … neither SRK a traitor. To tell u the TRUTH ” CHAK DE ” initially went to salman khan he said no … he wanted that movie to be as CHAK DE becoz he dint want to dissapoint his PAKISTANI fans and other who are living in ABROAD. Then it went to akshay kumar, he said no becoz he wanted to be associated with commercial cinema.

The people who said acting is not in the GENES of SRK ask dilip kumar himself he would say … dat his version of DEVDASS was becoz of SRK no 1 ever can do it.

That compliment was like Bradman complimenting TENDULKAR on his batting.

ps: sharuk’s don was a hit, and there are talks about a sequel.
amitab was only good after he retired and came back, his films were ok just like sanjay dutt, ajay davgun, akshay kumar, etc

just want to say that your analysis was very concise and well thought out; however the 90s saw the surge of the khans. Amir, Salman, and of course Sharuk. These three were on par, but somehow somewhere in the middle sharuk came on top. From my understanding of the industry, Sharuk movies seems to be doing really well everywhere; whereas Amir’s are more international successes and Salman’s are more domestic (india). Regardless, these three have had their limelight. Amir will undoubtedly release great movies, but not at the rate that sharuk does (which is one of the characteristics of being a legend).

Unfortunetly, I think we are in the middle of shift and the next gen hero has yet to secure his position or show signs of dominance.

The thing about bollywood is, even if you suck, as long as your name gets out there with relatively successful yet numerous films, the public will come to like you. Hence even though I hate to state it, Abishik will most likely take the lead position after sharuk. He has the star friend / contact background to get his name out there and help support him. Knowing his background and earlier performance levels, I find him to be very fake; however he is obviously doing something right as he seems to be gaining alot of attention.

Sharkuk still has a long way to go before he retires, hopefully in that time someone new may rise from the ashes and steal the spotlight, only time will tell.. ..

If Amitabh were to die tomorrow( God forbid! I’m only talking hypothetically ) where would that leave Abhishek? In the lurch ofcourse. Yes he held his own in Guru but he simply cant hold up to being a LEGEND, his artistry and even his sex appeal is not that masterful. As for Sharukh he can only fit into one type of role- the ardent lover, that’s why the Don was a flop. How many films has Hrithik done to date? not many compared to the others in the race although he’s a good actor looker and dancer, he’s just too aloof to be a legend.I think its time to think out of the box and come up with Ajay Devgan, yes he does not have the “classic” good looks but he’s devastatingly attractive and a veteran actor, just see his Filmography and the types of role he has successfully performed in. Also he’s just oozing sex appeal and has been doing the best films for over a decade and half.He’s not arrogant or difficult and is an easy going mischief maker. So I’d say he would be the next Bollywood legend.

I thinK Hrithik Roshan is the best actor of all time as he is the only actor who looks like a greek god,dances like a dream and gives solid performances back to back KNPH,FIZA,MISSION KASHMIR,KMG,LAKSHYA,KRRISH AND D:2.
He will not only overtake Srk and Amitabh Bachan in terms of popularity and star power and will be rembered as the greatest and the most complete actor of all time
And AB jr. is an average actor and also Srk is a star than an actor

Tanveer i think you are correct, shah rukh is definately a legened, he has given more hits than any one and on top his films are hit because of his performance. AB is a superstar but not legend. dilip kumar is certainly a legend. while hrithik can dance will but he is not as good in acting as SRK is. abishaik is there because of his father. he has no guts at all. ranbir kapoor, we will see him………..

question; if hrithik didn’t have such a mania with his first film, before kmg or krrish or now d2, would he be considered in ur list at all? if abhishek gets a solo hit will he be considered as competition with hrithik? or since hrithik has this “greek god” tag on him he’s considered better than everyone else? srk is far from being a legend. first of all he needs to learn acting. there isnt much different from his acting through the years. he still hammeres and smiles of everything.

Dont compare SRK with DiipKumar or Amitabh Bachan. Srk is way behind them in terms of acting abilities and personality-he has only come so far becuase of underworld funding and that too has a religous bent to it. Hrithik Roshan, Abisheck and Akshay Khanna are all better looking and more importantly are leagues ahead when it comes to acting skills. All these actors surely deservet to be the next Badsha of the Hindi filmdom-but in my opinion none of them will make it because the mafia will only promote persons of a certain religous bent.

This article was comical in every sense.Calling SRK a legend is insulting true legends just like that. SRK does not know even the ABCD of acting. He felexes his face as if he is imitating an ape all the time. And he is already fading out. Look at the pathetic boxoffice response of his latest films and compare it with the majestic response to Hrithik’s films. I personally think that from the present lot only Hrithik has the potential to become a legend. With correct choice of films he can definitely be one and the youth of India is behind him.

Dillip Kumar, Amitabh and Hrithik. In fact Hrithik is better than the other two. He has the face of an angel, the body of a greek god and he dances like a dream. The other two lacked these qualities. And Hrithik is not only a great actor, he is bold enough to experiment with roles like the ones in Lakshya, Koi Mil gaya and Krrish. It’s because of him KMG and Krrish are such big hits. He made them believable. Had it been anyone else, we would have laughed and mocked the movie and the films would fall flat on their faces. Dhooms didn’t have any story line at all. Silly robbery episodes. But did anyone realize that? No people were so mesmerized by Hrithik that they didn’t notice anything else. That’s star power…that’s a legend

It seems you were compelled (or paid for) to write this article after Dhoom2’s phenomenal success which proves that Hrithik and only Hrithik is a legend in the making. Abhisekh never had a chance and SRK is being given a run for his money by Hrithik. Is that the reason why this article was so necessary to try (pathetically) to divert the public’s opinion about Hrithik, AB Jr and SRK? And put SRK in the list of legends? Are you serious?
