Arshad Warsi bags role with babe Vidya Balan
Arshad Warsi has managed to bag a hot role opposite a hot actress in a film that will be produced by a hot director.
The hot actress is Vidya Balan, a coup in itself, but your ears will burn when you hear the name of the producer… Vishal Bhardwaj of Omkara fame. The film will also have renowned method actor Naseeruddin Shah playing the role of Arshad’s uncle.
When Naseer was asked about this, he said, “I have the highest regard for Vishal’s cinema. I was in both Maqbool and Omkara, though not in the principal parts. But in Ishqiya, I’m one of the protagonists along with Arshad and Vidya.”
Arshad also can not put a break on his excitement, saying, “First of all, I get to work with Naseeruddin Shah. I’ve worked with him before in Meri Biwi Se Bachao. I still remember the first time I obediently walked up to his van to greet him during that film. He made such an honest comment on the film that we were doing and ice was broken immediately. I know Naseer and I know I am going to have fun on this. Normally one has to hear at least a bit of the script to know its quality. I heard just a bit of Ishqiya and I knew I wanted to do it. He’s my khaloo (maternal uncle) in the film. Vidya is the girl who plays a game with both of us. Naseer and I are together in practically every scene. So I guess I’ll have a lot to learn.”
