Soon, a girl enters into Gaurav’s life – Sheeka Kapoor (Genelia D’Souza). Sheekha is a young and chirpy girl, who gets in touch with her old college friend Gaurav. Moreover, Sheekha’s guardian Anuradha (Shobhana) is Janardhan’s first love.
When Gaurav observes the change in the behavioural pattern of his father, he decides to link up the couple once again. With Sheekha’s help, Gaurav devices plans to make his father marry his first love. With Madhav joining the duo, the proceedings become more hilarious. The awesome threesome crave out tricky routes to attain their mission.
All this also includes the making of Gaurav and Sheekha’s love ishtory.
The film has its share of moments, thanks to some well shot scenes including Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Archana Puran Singh (who plays a lady cop in the film) and Rajpal Yadav. Sometimes, the story gets unfocussed to the inclusion of perky calls from Genelia D’Souza.
While one wishes for a far more competent second-half, Mere Baap Pehle Aap’s post-interval portions are a mixed bag of drama and comedy.
Priyadarshan has directed a good film yet again. Arun Kumar’s editing needed a further editing of 20 minutes or so. Piyush Shah’s cinematography is outstanding. Witty dialogues add to the humourous acting display by the actors.
Vidyasagar’s music is dull and boring. The songs are a burden on the film as not even a single track is a good number to jump upon.
