EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

First and foremost, ‘Summer 2007’ does not depict the message that the film tries to convey. Secondly, the film is full of glitches and amidst the tons of sub-plots that run parallel there lies the real unexplored story.

It is quite unlikely that Summer 2007 will run to pack houses, despite an attempt to convey an awakening message. The three-hour long film offers no respite to the dejected audiences who have witnessed just three hits this year.

Summer 2007 is the journey of five medical students played by Sikander, Gul Panag, Arjan Bajwa, Alekh Sangal, Uvika; who undergo a season of change in their behaviour and thinking when they are posted in a remote village of Maharashtra.

Initially, the rush in their blood pushes them to leave the area and run for freedom but soon they get stuck amidst the crisis borne by the people of the village. And, our five heroes decide to make their choices – the choice to stay and help, the choice to make a change, the choice to rise from darkness.

Wonder what was the intention of the script writer Brijesh Jayarajan. He has made a single film out of multiple stories. Summer 2007 includes the cool show of youngsters of today’s generation. After a kingsize display of their carefree lifestyles, the writer includes politics in the story to further engage the viewers.
