Bapu’s march is set to make a journey southwards. Gandhigiri will debut in the southern region of India in the form of a remake of a recent tribute in his name. Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s blockbuster hit of the year Lage Raho Munna Bhai will be remade in Telegu for southern viewers.
Telegu superstar Chiranjeevi will dawn the role of the protagonist Munna a.k.a. Shankardad for the movie, played by Sanjay Dutt in the original version. Vidya Balan will again play the role of the chirpy radio jockey, Munna’s love interest. Reportedly, Chiranjeevi was impressed by Vidya performance in the movie and wanted her to play the same in the Telegu version also.
The film will be produced by Gemini Film Circuit and will be titled “Shankardada Zindabad”.
