Soha talks about her sexy new image
Soha Ali Khan has created quite a stir with her oomph cover for a fashion magazine a few weeks ago. Is the till now conservative actress going the strip-to-success route? “No way,” she asserts.
“It was just a fun shoot. The photographer made me very comfortable and I didn’t feel awkward wearing the outfits I’d spent hours choosing,” she says.
How did the family, in particular dad Patuadi, react to the bold and beautiful pixs? “I haven’t spoken to him on the subject. It is not the kind of in-depth discussion I’d ever have with my dad,” she says.
Admitting that he has seen the photographs, she adds with a wry smile, “Thanks to the media, everyone has seen the photographs by now.”
And how did mom Sharmila Tagore, who herself had set tongues wagging with her swimsuit appearance in the 1960s, say? “Amma is a sensible and progressive lady. She said I looked good,” says the actress.
Quiz her on ‘bhaijaan’ Saif and she says she hasn’t discussed the subject with him. Marry go round Though she may have bared quite a bit on camera, Soha remains tightlipped about her relationship with southern superstar Siddharth whom she’s supposed to be marrying at the end of the year. “For me, the only important relationship is marriage and since I am not married yet there is nothing to talk about,” she shrugs.
So what’s keeping the actress engaged these days? It’s her movies, Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge opposite Kunal Kemmu and Mumbai Meri Jaan in which she plays a news reporter.
Talking about her co-stars, Khan says she’s “I’ve learnt a lot” from Irrfan Khan, Kunal Kemmu is “incredibly talented” and Abhay Deol is a “dear friend.”
But ask her about favourites and she says evasively, “Anyone who turns up on time and knows his dialogue.”
