Rani turned down two roles opposite Akshay Kumar
It has come to light that hot Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee was offered a number of roles opposite Akshay Kumar which she turned down.
According to rumours, Rani was offered the role of the mother in Heyy Babyy, which then went to Vidya Balan. Rani was also offered a pivotal part in Bhool Bhullaiyya, a role which again went to Vidya Balan. Both of these films became super hits.
When Rani was asked as to why she turned down these two very good roles, the actress responded by saying, “I want to essay characters which I have not done before. My fans have given me so much love and respect that I want to make them happy about my performances. These films, however, went on to become huge hits. I am still waiting for a good offer opposite Akshay.”
Was Rani wrong to turn down these films, bearing in mind that she hasn’t had a hit film since Black? Are film-makers now signing up Vidya Balan in roles that are meant for Rani Mukherjee? Should Rani make movies with other production houses and not keep herself tied with boyfriend Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films? i tend to disagree. looking at the roles rani was offered in BB and HB these were not the most inspiring of roles - dead wood has more life. after twelve years in the industry she has a right to make selective choices. The box office may have rung more for BB and HB but they were not movies that touched u or inspired u - in short they were “slapstick” comedy at it’s worst. rani is an actress because of her talent, she has proven that she is the most talented actress out there. cheeni kum was not a great movie by bollywood box office standards, no complaining about tabu. vidya sadly has yet to prove her talent and merit as an actress. rani is right to be selective for when she looks back at her career she can be proud of the choice of movies that she has made. Does meryl streep, etc only do movies for box office gain. They are known for their talent, not always box office success.
well well well….
Rani found laga chunari mein daag and saawaria roles more inspiring…nevermind
i liked her in Tara Rum pum tho…
but its box office thats counts and no one wants to be inspired..around here…
mmmmmmm..vidya is the rani wanna be hehehehe..she steal her roles..refuse to make laaga chunari mein daag with her..and now steal her stylist…vidya is not rani…she gotta a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go to be rani..
well about akshay..i dont see rani in BB or HB…it would be aweful to see her in these films…if akki has great roles for her it would be interresting but if not then better not work together
