Just returned from the opening night of Cannes Film Festival. Aishwarya was already here, Abhishek joined in from Miami and together with Jaya we went to the Festival. It is a big festival, many interesting films and people gather every year and it is sad to see no Indian representation. But just to witness the dignity and respect they give to artist and technitions is quite amazing. The management , the dress code and protocol, all so methodical and artistically managed. Opening film was, ‘Blindness’. An amazing story, but philosophical in nature. I read some comments from the last two blogs and have noted the points they have made. Most of the issues were putting up questions relating to future projects and a general excitement to the blog. Some have liked the stand that I take on false accusations, and others, a smaller lot resent the advice I chose on the TRP’s of various shows. There are some amongst you who feel that there has been an attempt on my part to compare myself with other colleagues of mine. This is false and incorrect. I think the whole purpose of my account has been incorrectly interpreted. I have never ever meant that at all. I have never considered myself worthy of such position and have hated such indulgence. However, if some amongst you have felt otherwise, I wish to sincerely apologize for that and say that I am sorry ! It shall not happen again. I also wish to clarify an accusation thrown at me by MidDay today. The tabloid states through sources from the server bigadda.com that I have been paid an amount of Rs 115 cr by them to write my blog. This in entirely incorrect. I use the services of the server bigadda.com and nothing else, there are no finances involved at all. So, a challenge to the tabloid - i/ show me receipts of the payment made or any contract signed ii/ disclose or prove the name of the source that has confirmed this information to you. It is beyond 3:00 am now and I need to rest. Have not slept since my take off from Mumbai..
