C Kkompany has Tusshar Kapoor playing a character called Akshay Kumar. Last week a song was recorded for the Balaji production with Sanjay Dutt in which he makes digs at Akshay Kumar (the actor) and his women.
Says a source, “A song Ek Building Mein Bandh Hai Teen was picturised on Sanjubaba, where he introduces all the characters of Tusshar, Anupam Kher and Paresh Rawal. The lyrics make fun of Akshay and his proximity to women.” Akshay was known to have many girlfriends before he got married to Twinkle and the song makes a reference to that.
Adds the source, “A few years ago Balaji wanted to make a film with Akshay but after keeping them hanging for months he quoted an astronomical price and backed out. Perhaps that explains making fun of him in the song.”
Sachin Yardi, director of C Kkompany says, “It’s a music video and a promotional song. The idea of giving Akshay Kumar’s name to Tusshar was deliberate. Normally when one says Akshay Kumar, it is associated with strength and power — a macho character which is what the actor is in real life. But in the film Tusshar’s character is exactly the opposite — he’s cowardly and ordinary.”
The director denies spoofing Akshay’s character. “The idea was to show the stark contrast between Akshay and Tusshar’s character and Akshay’s name is easily identifiable. We are not making fun of Akshay.”
Tusshar, who has worked with Akshay in Khakhee and Insaan, adds, “It’s a huge compliment to any actor to have his name identified in a film. Akshay should feel flattered. It’s not that I am playing Akshay’s fan.”
The lyrics, written by Shabbir Ahmed, make fun of Akshay and his women. Tusshar says, “The lyrics go something like Yeh hai Akshay Kumar, jo hai ishq ke bimaar, ek don ki bahen se isko ho gaye pyaar and then talks about Akshay Kumar and his love life. It’s an introductory song about me too so the lyrics are about me and my women — and one in particular — Raima Sen, who plays my love interest.”
