Well known filmmaker Raj N Sippy will meet Sanjay Dutt on 11 December, 2006 at the latter’s Pali Hill residence in Bandra to discuss the remake of his 1980s hit film, Satte Pe Satta.
Sippy will narrate the character of Amitabh Bachchan that he wants Dutt to portray, and seek Dutt’s willingness to act in his movie, tentatively titled Seven.
“I know only Sanju can do justice to this role, which Amitji played in Satte Pe Satta and for that I am going to meet Sanjay Dutt. I don’t need to seek a prior appointment with him because we have worked together in many films and share a good rapport,” says the filmmaker.
“I know it is not the good time for narration, but through my visit I want to tell Sanju that he will get through this case and we can work with him again. If everything goes well, the remake of Satte Pe Satta will be my next movie. I have three top producers waiting to start this project,” says Sippy.
Seven will be a musical movie. Instead of the seven brothers as in the original, it will have five brothers and two sisters. Sanjay Dutt and Raj N Sippy have worked together in Romu N Sippy’s Jeeva, Sanjay Roy’s Thanedaar, K K Talwar’s Qurbani Rang Layegi, Romu N Sippy’s Amaanat and Salim Akhtar’s film, which was later shelved.
