The completion of 100 days of Lage Raho Munnabhai on Friday also marks the beginning of the countdown to Vinod Chopra Films’ next offering, Eklavya-The Royal Guard, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
The film is slated for release all over on 16 February, 2007.
“Eklavya-The Royal Guard will be the next release from the house of Vinod Chopra Films. The business dealings of the film will take place by the end of December,” says Vinod Chopra Films’ business head George Thomas.
Eklavya- The Royal Guard, a contemporary dramatic thriller is about Eklavya, loyal guardian of a royal dynasty, whose duty is to protect the erstwhile royal family in Devigarh, Rajasthan. What follows is a story of deceit, revenge, drama and action.
Eklavya promises to be a visual treat, whilst showcasing never seen before locations on celluloid. The film boasts a stellar line up, including actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, Jimmy Sheirgill, Raima Sen and Sharmila Tagore.
The last film directed by Vinod Chopra was Mission Kashmir, which released in 2000. The movie starred Sanjay Dutt, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta and Jackie Shroff.
Within the space of two decades, Chopra has produced nine movies - Khamosh, Parinda, 1942: A Love Story, Kareeb, Mission Kashmir, Munnabhai M.B.B.S., Parineeta, Lage Raho Munnabhai and now, Eklavya - The Royal Guard.
