2006 has been a lucky year for the Hindi film industry.
Of the 23 films released, many did good business, while a few were lukewarm. 8 December marks a celebration day for three films – Rakesh Roshan’s Krissh, which was released on 23 June 2006, celebrates its silver jubilee on Friday, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Lage Raho Munnabhai, released on 1 September 2006 celebrates 100 days and Farhan Akhtar’s Don, which was released on 20 October 2006 completes 50 days.
The list of movies, which have done above average to good business in 2006 are: Dhoom 2, Vivah, Apna Sapna Money Money, Dor, Lage Raho Munnabhai, Krrish, Fanaa, Rang De Basanti, Don, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Phir Hera Pheri, Golmaal, Malamaal Weekly, 36 China Town, Taxi No. 9211, Gangster, Zinda, Tom Dick and Harry, Corporate, Aksar, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Woh Lamhe and Khosla Ka Ghosla.
What’s more, B R Films’ Baabul hit theatre screens today (8 December) and some of the big films to follow before the year ends are Kabul Express, BhagamBhag and Guru.
