A fter judging Sony’s Mr and Ms TV, Sonali Bendre is back on the chair.
She is the fourth member of the Indian Idol 4 jury, which includes Anu Malik and Javed Akhtar along with the other new entrant Kailash Kher. Kher and Bendre are replacing Udit Narayan and Alisha Chinai.
Albert Almeida, channel head, Sony TV, was reluctant to confirm Bendre’s entry but did say that the channel is in talks with the actress. Star presence Almeida is confident that Bendre will add glamour to the show. But why pick a person who isn’t a music expert, as a judge? “She’s very balanced and her opinions are sound.
Besides Indian Idol is not just about singing. We are here to pick a performer,” Almeida reasons.
The other three judges are known for their frankspeak. But Bendre is known to be politically correct. So, how does she fit in? “She’ll shine by contrast,” Almeida smiles. Some more Almeida says that Indian Idol 4 will see several other changes.
