One of Indian television’s longest serials is about to come to an end, according to our sources.
Sakshi Tanwar headlined Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii, which is produced by Balaji Telefilms, has been running for eight years but has recently seen a dip in the ratings. A source claims that after the success of Bidaai, Star Plus has approached Rajan Shahi to make another soap which will replace this family drama. Shahi accepts that he is making another show but not for Star. He has only announced the technical team so far. The cast is yet to be finalised.
Ekta Kapoor, head of Balaji, laughs out loud at the rumour and asserts, “No, it’s not true.” She also denies that the time slot might change from the familiar 10 pm. Even the head of marketing, Star TV Prem Kamath refutes the buzz.
