Taare Zameen Par is a hit in Pakistan
Aamir Khan’s critically acclaimed film Taare Zameen Par has opened to full houses at the Pakistan Box Office.
Being screened at only 16 theatres, audiences flocked to see a masterpiece of modern-times. According to Zoraiz Lashari, owner of Sozo World cinema hall in Lahore, “It is amazing to see that people are flinging to the cinema halls to watch the movie although a good number of them must already have watched it on cable TV or DVDs. Yet, the charm of the big screen can never die, I guess.”
Home grown films in Pakistan don’t even get such great openings, so for an Indian film to achieve this shows how thirsty the Pakistan people are for quality cinema.
