The tiff between multiplexes and distributor Bharat Shah of VIP Films has been resolved.
B R Chopra’s Baabul will now be screened in all multiplexes in the Bombay circuit. The movie will release with the same revenue sharing terms as are prevalent for other multi-starrer films. The prints have also been increased due to the tussle and the film will now be released in more than 120 prints only in the Bombay circuit. Earlier, the movie was to be released with only 120 prints overall.
Shah, who is distributing the film in the Bombay circuit, says, “Everything has been mutually solved. They promised to give me the same revenue sharing terms if Baabul runs, and if it does not, they have left it upto me. The film will now release in more multiplexes. The revenue sharing terms will remain the same in the coming weeks.”
The film is produced by B R Chopra under the banner of B R Films and is directed by Ravi Chopra. The cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Hema Malini, Rani Mukerjee, John Abraham, Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav and Sarika.
