The film is English by language, with a flavour of Punjabi in it. The sound of desi tunes are put in the background to make one aware of the grounded feelings..Whatever!

The emotional platform given to the screenplay doesn’t make it engrossing. It is just like a formal way of making a short documentary on the tragedy and negates.

Actingwise, Anupam Kher takes away the piece of cake with his fiery act. He just sizzles up the screen with his exuberant screen presence and dialogue delivery. Mahima Chaudhury does a fine job in the role given to her.

The thorn in this bed of roses is Amit Sial who has simply wasted the very important character of Ali Siddiqui. Amit looks clueless through the film. Suhasini Mulay is ordinary as the silent wife of Colonel.

On the whole, Hope And A Little Sugar is a little poised in nature with a strong feeler towards the sufferings of the heartwrecking attack of 9/11.Hold it till the movie comes out in the DVD as it lacks a lot to pull one till the theatres.
