IIFA mockery as Taare Zameen Pe gets ZERO nominations
Aamir Khan’s much acclaimed Taare Zameen Par has not been nominated in any category for the International Indian Film Academy awards.
A new regulation came into affect for this year’s nominations, which put the emphasis on the producers of the films themselves to put forward their products. As Aamir Khan, the producer and director of Taare Zameen Par, is not a fan of award shows, it comes as no surprise that this Darsheel Safary was not amongst 2007’s elite.
The IIFA has come to be recognised as the Bollywood equivalent of the Oscars and for one of the most appealing movies not be in the list is a disgrace to the industry itself.

You cant say IIfa is bollywoods oscar cause it Iifa was build in the millenium where oscar was in the early 20 century so only Filmfare is the only one that is Bollywoods oscar as this article shows is that the writer hates SRK and tries to bring down his achievements!TZP was one of the 3 best movies of 2007 where in both commercially and critical,the other 2 are chak de and The nemesake!TZP should be nominated for many categories except for best director cause Aamir stole the director chair after the movie was 60 procent completed by Amole Gupta!
It is not fair at all that Taare Zameen Par is not nominited.Iifa should not have done this kind of stupid action.

Wont it be funny that Abhishek will get best actor and aishwarya as best actress as Amitabh is the brand ambassador?It would be called bachan awards.LOL.I believe they want to give best movie to guru cause it had Abhishek in the lead or eklavya and thats why they had to eliminate rivals and only leaving left Chak de!i hope a movie that stars a bachan wont be the winner of the night cause Iifa would embarrass themselves considering the chief of Bachans is the brand ambassador for the award!
Finally an award function is boycotting this joker. The man steals from directors, cheats on his wife etc. Somebody who doesn’t want to attend award functions for childish reasons deserves nothing. Well don e IIFA. Now lets hope it doesn’t become a Bachchan show indeed.

Aamir Khan refused to fill in a form to submit his film Taare Zameen Par, hence its non-inclusion.
The rule for getting a nomination in the IIFA awards popular categories, producers have to fill up a form and send it. But the producer didn’t send his film, hence it is not in the list .
Damn good 4 Aamir Khan!!! Other awards also shud do this cos this man doesn’t even attend award functions. This time, he hasn’t even given clips to several other award functions. Very good lesson 4 him. I hope others also take necessary steps atleast next year not to nominate people who don’t care 4 awards. Very wel done!!!
(TZP is a good film bt pls stop boasting so much abt it. Aamir is a person who left his own kids & married another woman, he made this film to earn money not cos he loves kids, ha ha… B4 giving msgs thru films, he shud learn 2 give a msg by being an example in real life!!!)
The only thing that comes close to the oscars in india is the NATIONAL AWARDS.
Oscars are never won by the biggest stars but by the best actors. National Awards follow this logic.
Filmfare should be called FILMFRAUD AWARDS.
Most awards in india are corrupt. The only ones that have any dignity and are the most respected are the NATIONAL AWARDS.
Ask any actor what award he wants. Filmfare, IFFA, or National Award.

silly idea that producers have to fill in form!! every movie should be in the list anyway, what would happen if all a-grade(meaning hit/critically accliamed movies) movies didn’t fill in form, it would be an award function for only b-grade(flop movies) movies, that didn’t do well or weren’t even good.
Well Done, That is wat i was looking for, why if a man is from a film industry he is working, if he does not give audio and video clips for nominations then why should an awards should nominate him becoz he does not believe in awards, once again i appreciate dis in a positive way. Well Done IIFA
To compare IIFa with Oscars is a contradiction in terms. The oscar awards are given to those actors with exceptional talent, not the actor with the biggest fan base or celebrity status. This years oscars clearly showed that when George Clooney (awarded sexiest man alive twice)won out to Daniel Day Lewis, who deserved to win for his stunning performance. Sadly Iifa awards those with the biggest fan base. The nominees for the main categories are so ludicrious and transparent that u do not need to be intelligent to know who will win…SRK and Kareena Kapoor. my Father..her performance far outweighed that of Ash, Kareena, Vidya, etc..The reason these stars are nominated is to ensure that the glamour quotient is met and that the public will actually attend in order to see their favourite stars..excellent marketing strategy. As one film director stated IIFa should be renamed the Blockbuster Awards as only films that do well at the box office or are made by known studios (YRF) are nominated. If Jab We Met, Guru, OSO, etc the best we can offer as great movies, then Bollywood will always be regarded as a kitch industry known for it’s talent of “recreating” Hollywood movies. I support Aamir for not contributing to this hypocrisy, TZP was a good movie but it deserves to be awarded for it’s quality and substance and not because it was a top money earner. Bollywood needs a wake up call if it wants its counterparts in the rest of the world to take them seriously as a talented industry & not a glamourous one. I can already predict next years IIFa predictions…Kajol, Aish, Kareena, Bipasha, SRK, Hritik, Anil kappor, etc…need i say more

National award is not like oscar!the reason is how can bollywoods arnold shwarzneger(sonny deol)and stallone(Ajay devgan) won national award and i would like to know if any action figure won The Oscars?Oscar is won by actors that makes Drama and Romance not Action or comedy!It is childish of AB as he should forget the fight after Aamir personally apologized and it is good that Aamir is rejected and taken away from the history cause the difference between Legends and one generation actors is the Achievement of awards and becomes a part of history!It is a big loose of Iifa if they reject Aamir cause he has a way to many fans to be ignored!
Actually problem is Big B is not Big enough to accept the performance of any Khan’s. He hates muslims. He didn’t invite any single muslim in his son’s wedding. He didn’t invite Hritik because his wife is muslim even though Abhi consider Hritik his good freind.

Just because your hero SRK was not invited doesnt mean he does not like muslims. There were more hindus not invited than muslims. Also You say NO muslim was invited that is again incorrect. Ayman Ali Khan was invited with his brother. So was Nusrat Fateh Ali Khans nephew, just to name a few.

I dont understand why AAMIR is doing this, IFFA awards advertise bollywood to the world he should attend this award atleast. Its bollywood that gives him his money and pays his mortgage so he should atleast help make bollywood bigger around the world.

If producer decide not to submit his movie for a award why do IIFA punishes stars of the file. Darsheel who done a great job won’t be nominated for any award. Thats not fair, its just a hatred from Bachan family.

Actually Aamir refused IIFA for special screening of his film at IIFA and now IIFA wants to take revenge.

The fact is there were muslims there. Dia Mirza was there, so were others.. Yet there were hundred of hindus from the film industry that were not invited. It was supposed to be a private affair, and who are we to say who should be invited and who should not.

Regarding Aamir and Awards :
It is completely fair that like all international awards whether they are the Oscars, BAFTAS, or Cannes, a movie has to be submitted by the producers of the film.
The reason why Aamir Khan doesn’t attend Indian award ceremonies because he didn’t win any awards earlier in his career when he felt he should have. Initially he did attend a couple of them and now he is boycotting them!!! Yet he is very happy to attend the Oscars and BAFTAS in hollywood and london for Laagan and hoping to win!!! Not only that but he presented an award too at the BAFTAS. So it can’t be the fact that he hates the ceremonies or the awards themselves. He does aspire to win them!
But what is completely dispicable is that he is stealing the deserved recognition of colleagues (such as Darsheel and others) who work with him, for his misguided inflated ego. He is also robbing the audience of appreciating the recognition bestowed on the artistes with these awards, that work with him. He is stifling the very industry he doesn’t like yet perpetually works within it, only to boost his own ego, that he is THE best! He might be a good actor, but he isn’t the only one in our industry. Why hasn’t he dared to be cast with Big B or SRK in any projects! Could it be that he knows he will be dwarfed (literally) by their presence or that he won’t be able to dictate to everyone on the sets, as these actors are a force to be reckoned with too?
The industry doesn’t help itself by pampering to his ego. They should all refuse to work with him in any capacity, as he seems to kill other peoples creativity and ambitions, as long as he gets his own way. He is also a tryant, a meddler and a complete control freak on other peoples projects that he is starring in. The english stars that worked on Mangel Pandey were very vocal about his meddling and controlling every aspect of the film, when interviewed in Britain.
It is a shame that an actor, undoubtley talented, thinks he is better than everybody in the industry that feeds him and also the audience. Let’s hope the industry and the audience wake up to this complete ego maniac and stop pandering to his whims and bring him down to reality, and then maybe we can all appreciate his work and maybe him.

All awards seem either fair or unfair depending on whether your favourites win or not.
Yes, there is some favouritism in certain categories, especially in Filmfare Awards, and it is usually given to the star that has most power.
Take for example, Filmfare Best Actor this year. It was given to SRK for Chak De in almost in all other award ceremonies. He is a great actor, but what was so special about his role in that film? Anyone could have done that role with their eyes closed.
If anything, Darheel should have got it or Abhishek for giving the brilliant performance of his life after Yuva. Both Darseel and Abhishek acted their hearts out and displayed some real talent of getting into their character.
Also don’t forget, TZP won almost every category it was nominated in Filmfare, where it was nominated. Surely, he must have known in advance that he was going to win. Stars don’t turn up to these events if they know they haven’t won.
And then there are some awards which are voted by the public and fans. By not accepting these awards he disrespects the audience. The very people who put food on his table.
And yet he goes to Hollywood to the Oscars, which can also be accused of being unfair. They have to canvas, going from one jury member to the next, like beggars, for votes to get the maximum number of votes to receive and Oscar.
He spent a lot of effort canvasing for Lagaan to get the votes.
Ok, so he doesn’t want to attend cos it’s unfair to him. But by not putting his film forward for nominations makes someone as talented as Darsheel and some of his wonderful technicians suffer because of his arrogance. Is that fair??
The way IIFA act, In future nobody will care of them. The reason for their
system in choice of better films.Or may be curruption in IIFA. Only the
film Taare Zameen Par is suitable to competative in OSCAR. Taare Zameen Par is far better film than chak de. We don’t understand how Yr
choice and which basis.
