Impossible is nothing when creative minds are at work. After 37 years, one complete song has been shot in just one take. The amazing work was done by Wilson Louis, director of Lonavala Khandal Ghat. Earlier, it was the sensuos number “Roop Tera Mastana’ shot in one take for the movie Aradhana back in 1969.

The single take recorded on a 35 mm, contains 4 minutes of footage for the unedited song. The song was shot in Lonavala, A jungle near Khandala. It took three days of rehearsal for the entire crew to perfect the one-take shot. The challenge was taken up by the director and was accomplished along with some difficulties. Wilson says, “It was a day shoot and getting the lip sync right for the entire song involved great effort.”

The song ‘Kismat hai zandu to kya karega pandu’ is self-confessed narration of a character called ‘zandu’ about his aimless life and has five other characters in the song, who are at the moment on an adventurous exploration of a jungle. The song has been sung by none other than the rap master Baba Saigal. On his experiment, Wilson says, “The last time a one-take song was shot, was in 1969, for ‘Roop tera mastana’ (picturised on Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore). However, our song had six characters and it was done outdoors which involved all the more co-ordination and effort.”
