EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI

After receiving rave reviews from film festivals around the world, the influential flick ‘Khuda Ke Liye’ has hit the Indian cinema theatres. The film has created a lot of bang in the filmy circles in various parts of the world and with its release in India, it has also broken the 43 year old barrier of abandon.

Director Shoaib Mansoor highlights the story and engages you in every frame of the film. However good narrator that Shoaib Mansoor is, the film is slightly weak on the technical front.

The film raises many issues after the hair raising blasts of 9/11. The film brings the mindsets of Muslim fundamentalists and liberals who live in constant opposal from the exteriors and inner self. The division between the various individuals in the society like the liberals and the extremists in wonderfully depicted in the flick.

The film highlights the teachings of Islam and the way in which Islamic groups interpret it for their own benefit. It is indeed a brave effort to make a film with such a strong message in Pakistan.
