EXCLUSIVE REVIEW BY HANUMANT BHANSALI
Last Friday’s release Shaurya is blatant copy of ‘A Few Good Men’. The difference is the approach taken by director Samar Khan. While Shaurya is more about the issue in picture, A Few Good Men was more about characters than the concept.
The story of Shaurya revolves around a court martial set in the army backdrop. Shaurya raises some serious issues while being preachy at the same time.
Best friends in life Sid (Rahul Bose) and Akash (Javed Jafferi) are pitched against each other in the courtroom during the court martial of Captain Javed Khan (Deepak Dobriyal), who has been charged for rebellion. Captain Javed Khan remains silent while the two go-getters try their best to defend their case.
During the course of the hearing, Sid finds a new meaning for himself in Captain Javed, Kavya and Brigadier Pratap (Kay Kay). The climax is well-built and brings the establishment behind the case with sincere certainity.
The film manages to live upto its tagline - ‘It takes courage to make right… right’ but after lifting the screenplay and script from the Hollywood flick.
