With Govinda among the main leads of a film, a film-maker is bound to get frustrated with unpunctuality time and again. But, to vanish from the sets can shatter one’s resistance to a great extent. Director Priyadarshan was infuriated by Govinda’s absence from the sets of Bhagam Bhag and the rest is quite a good read.
While, director Priyadarshan was ready to shoot a promotional song for the movie, Govinda went missing from the sets. Learning that, Priyadarshan reportedly sent 12 assistants to go on a hunting mission for the actor. With Govinda’s cell ‘out of coverage area’ and a clueless crew searching for him, even his secretary had no clue about his whereabouts…
Later, it was learnt that Govinda was dozing off in his make-up van. Govinda arrived an hour later unaware of the chaos on the set and was greeted by a fuming Priyadarshan.
Govinda’s comments on the incident: “Actually, my make-up van is huge and instead of sleeping in my room, I went and slept in the guest room. The spot boys and the assistants looked for me in my room and not seeing me there, they thought I had done the disappearing act. I was in deep slumber. When I realised that no one had come to call me, I woke up and reached the set on my own. I think it was sheer comedy of errors.” Expectable!
