Who is srk? who is shahruck khan? heard of one actor in india. Amitabh Bachchan. Actually I am new so I only know the best actor. I asked many people who to like and everyone said it should be amitabh. Heard other actors are typecast. Either does comedy or romantic or only action. But I heard that amitabh has got sharabi, kabhie kabhie, deewar, agneepath , sholay great gambler, black, action film like khakee at the age of 65, still giving blockbusters. Even heard that he worked in some formula movies like mohabattein and k3g which are actually very similar to ddlj and kkhh. Heard immature audience like the same thing again and again that is why few actors are scared of doing anything but romantic roles. But honestly it is changing, chak de india and swades was a good attempt. You want healthy debate. Lets go for it. But I am new and only know and heard about the best from all

Todays stars are media made there is nothing about them. Infact i dont think there are any true stars. Today its just media hype and nothing else.

I think the main reason why we have no true stars like Amitabh back in the 70s and 80s is due to the media. Today with sattelite TV, Internet, the STAR has been killed. There is just no buzz anymore as we see them dancing and singing by a press of the button.

When i first saw Amitabh in 1990 concert at wembly 60,000 people turned up, This was a time where we had no sattelite TV, no internet. I could not beleive i was seeing him it was a surreal moment. Today there is just no buzz anymore with stars.

I dont think the wembly record of 60,000 will ever be broken by any indian star. There was just more craze because we didnt see them that much and wanted to see them. Today there is no such craze. If you see them OK good, if you dont it dont matter.

For me technology, DVDs, Internet have killed that craze.

My father told me he saw dilip kumar in india in the 1960s, the whole place had stopped. It was like they were seeing some kind of god. Today stars cant do this in india as they can see them on TV or even better on internet, they just seem more human now.

Just curious to know.

Amitbh Bachchan at 42 was the biggest personality in india, not just in films but in general more famous and bigger than anything in india. King Khan read about his coolie injury in 1982 and all answers will be answered, the whole country stopped to pray for him. This kind of popularity has never been seen in india before or after.

SRK is nothing in comparison. I think SRK needs to worry about Hrithik, Aamir etc who are more better than him and deliver HITs everytime they make films.

Saif, by no means, is a nice person. He along with SRK were the horrible hosts for this years Filmfare One award where they took out their anger against Vidhu Binod Chopra, Bhansali and many more. Since Amitabh did not invite Saif and SRK to his sons marriage, so everyone including SRK fans are mad. But there were number of people in Industry who did not get invited but none of them made such a big deal. This is Amitabh’s personal issue and no one has the right to make comments on it. The biggest problem with SRK is that even at this stage of his film career, he comes next to Amitabh and that is killing him. He wants to prove that he is bigger than everyone. When Amitabh was 40 years old, Dilip Kumar was still doing films but there was no bad mouthing between the two. SRK action proves beyond doubt that popularity of Amitabh, even at this stage, does not go well. So he is trying to show people that he is number 1 with the help of hype being created by him with the help of others.

Ricky NO film can match SHOLAY.

Look at the figures, inflation adjusted over 200crores, Biggest blockbuster of all-time. Every dialouge famous, every character famous.

DDLJ can never match that…

Even if you look at DDLJ you will still not remember the names of every character apart from the lead..

Look at sholay..

Dialogues are as famous as they were 35 years ago. No film can match the appeal of sholay…

SRK is the best..He is the only one that can match Sholay with DDLJ and made many hit films throughout his career & If he came for a concert he has more talent and alot to offer in the concert because SRK came to Dallas for a concert in 2004 and blowed the roof off..but for the Baachans, i dont think they have alot to offer for a concert in today times.

If SRK thinks he is a megastar i would ask him to come to the UK and book Wembly stadium today and do a show. Call the show SRK LIVE IN CONCERT.

No more than 10,000 people will attend. there will be 60,000 empty seats…

AB did this in 1990 and attracted over 60,000 people. SRK needs the help of other stars to sell out a stadium. Maybe today actors just lack the stardom bachchan had in 1990.

Amitabh Bachchan was the FIRST star to sell-out Wembly Stadium in the UK. 60,000 people turned up in a show which i was present. That still holds the record for an indian show. SRK and others have followed in years afterwards but have never reached a figure of 60,000. Sept 1990. go check out the figures. The most SRK has ever got is 10,000 at wembly arena. The tour was hyped as “Amitabh live in concert”. Later when the video came out it was called JUMMA CHUMMA IN LONDON. This is the UK record for an indian concert!

AB was the first star to do a concert in new yorks GIANT STADIUM. Again around 60,000+ came to see him. Again that is a record for an indian show in america. SRK has never reached these dizzy figures. June 1990

These records are still not broken by any other indian star. I don think they will ever be broken.

Also First star to do a concert at JOHANASBERG south africa. Around 70,000 came and saw the concert.

These concerts were part of the Amitabh Bachchan world tour of 1990.

This was the most succesfull tour by any indian actor to date.
