Abhishek Bachchan loves hip-hop and R&B music. The actor has a huge collection of the latest hot and happening tunes on his iPod. But the unit of Drona saw a very different side of the actor during his schedule in Austria.

Abhishek jammed with Bauchklang, an Austrian band. It is learnt that the band is popular in Europe and they often perform at local gigs. Bauchklang was in Mumbai in February performing at a lounge bar.

A source says, “Bauchklang has worked with Ashu-Dhruv, the music directors for the film on a song and also the background music. The reason why Ashu-Dhruv and Bauchklang have collaborated is that they both have very similar styles of working. Dhruv was quite impressed with their vocals. They don’t use any instruments. They band is all about harmonising their vocals. Abhishek was very impressed when he met the band.”

Dhruv who’s responsible for getting the band to Mumbai says, “These guys are amazing. They have worked with us on the title track of Drona. I have sung the male version, while Sunidhi Chauhan has sung the female. You can hear the vocals of Bauchklang in the the song’s background. The reason I worked with them is because they fit perfectly in the sound we are creating for Drona.”

Who is Bauchklang
This vocal groove project formed around the frontman and lead singer Andreas Fraenzel in 1996. They create their sound (hip-hop, reggae, trance, folk, ethno, drum’n'cass, Africanism and Ambient) without the help of any instruments — just with the power of their voice. The band members are Andreas Fraenzl (lead vocals), Gerald Huber (human beatbox), Christian Birawsky (mouth percussion), Alex Boeck (bass), Philipp Sageder (vocal sounds).
