Madhur Bhandarkar’s latest film Traffic Signal, completed and scheduled for release on 19 January, 2007 with 210 prints all over, will now be released on 26 January 2007 or 2 February 2007.
The movie stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Ranvir Shorey, Neetu Chandra and Kunal Khemu and is presented by Percept Picture Company.
“We had planned Traffic Signal for a 19 January release all over, but due to the disappearing acts by beggars and eunuchs who were acting in my film, my movie got delayed. But it’s a blessing in disguise for my film, because when we screened the first look of Traffic Signal at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, we received a positive response from distributors in India and overseas. Earlier, we were going to release 210 prints, but now we plan to go up to 300 prints. The post production work is at the final stages and we are also releasing the film in digital format,” says Bhandarkar.
The film’s budget is more than Rs 40 million (Rs 4 crore).
After Traffic Signal, Bhandarkar will start his next film titled Fashion, which will dwell on the vagaries of the fashion world. The film is at the scripting stage and will go on the floors after the release of Traffic Signal.
