Aamir apologizes in person to Amitabh Bachchan
The cold war between two of India’s leading stars has come to an end…
When Taare Zameen Par director Aamir Khan criticized legend Amitabh Bachchan’s character in renowned flick Black, Big B hit back by saying “’May be the performances in Black did go over Aamir’s head”. Knowing that he had upset one of Bollywood’s greatest actors, Aamir Khan tried to apologize. But, Mr. Bachchan was not going to have any of it. He refused to answer Aamir’s phone calls. However, late on Tuesday afternoon, Aamir took an unprecedented step by making an unannounced visit to the sets of Sujoy Ghosh’s Alladin, where Amitabh was shooting.
The showdown took place at the age-old Mehboob Studios, with many onlookers surprised. One of them told Indian daily Mid-Day, “Everyone was surprised to see Aamir on the sets of Alladin. He came at around 3.30 pm and went straight up to Bachchan. He spoke to him for a while and left. Aamir did not interact much with the other stars of Alladin, which included Sanjay Dutt and Riteish Deshmukh.”
When Amitabh was asked as to how the meeting went, he responded, “Oh, grow up. It was a normal thing that we all do when colleagues are shooting together. He came home to pay his condolences when my mother passed away and again for the chautha. He has been to Jalsa several times. Aamir has invited us to see his film Taare Zameen Par. I’m waiting for all my family members to be in town so we can see the film. Right now Jaya is attending Parliament, Abhishek is in Miami and Ash too will be away.”
So there you have it… it seems whenever someone has a tiff with Mr. Bachchan, the only way they can meet and apologize to him is if they make unsurprised visits while he is shooting… because otherwise he will not meet you. The same happened when he was supposedly having a quarrel of sorts with Shah Rukh Khan.

SRK is too big for AB.Buddy AB,Aamir,Hrithik,salman,akshay and the rest of bollywood actors(male)together dont match the status SRK has in Bollywood fans both in overseas and domestic!AB has to come to apologies to king khan not vice versa!He apologized to Manoj kumar for he was getting sued,not for he was afraid he would loose some fans!It was AB loose when the cold war came out cause not a single one movies that starred the bachans became a hit where srk 2 movies became the most blockbuster 2007(OSO record holder)!Suck on this!Aamir was always insecure and he proofed it today!why challenge what you cannot defeat!
It is a sign of good culture and decency that aamir has shown by expressing his apology.First of all there is no evidence in the article that he went there to apologise.Infact he may have gone their to express his condolences to amitji which indirectly can be infered upon as ‘apology’. Amitabh is a very sophisticated and cultured man compared to shahrukh.I’m not a shahrukh ‘hater’, but i would like to tell KING KHAN who has commented above that by counting BOXOFFICE hits and FANCLUBS around the world u can measure an actor but not a humanbeign.Amitji also has n number of hits and fanclubs,btu when u hear shahrukh khan and amitji in an interview, who do u feel has more culture and more sohisticated background.Shahrukh khan is indeed smart in giving comments and a good actor, but amitji is legend which shahrukh cannot become.U know wat, in the near future aamir can become an institution but not shahrukh.Nowadays shahrukh has beome little bit arrogant and his leg pulling is over the boundaries.He should act his age now. I think sachin would not be behaviing in the same way as he would a decade ago in the dressing room.He must be participating in the fun, but in a mature manner. secondly to become a legend like amitji or a institution u should not count on ur fanclubs or hits but ur attitude and quality of work.Shahrukh is more of a quantity and aamir and amitji r more of a quality.On a concluding note i would also like to add that shahrukh has tremendous energy & stamina to work maybe more than aamir and amitji, but he should learn to properly channelise that.

No one can deny the fact that Shah Rukh Khan is the biggest global superstar in the Hindi film industry. As is well known, King Khan has taken up another TV quiz show (after Kaun Banega Crorepati), which will run during prime time on the country’s number 1 channel, across March end, April and May. It is given that the show, ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? ‘ will command record eyeballs for sure, especially during the initial episodes.
As is known, Shah Rukh Khan also owns a cricket team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kolkota Knight Riders, which will play Twenty20 competitions in which a record 59 matches will be played and telecast in April-May. Knowing the involvement of SRK and some of the other high profile members in IPL, it is naturally going to be a huge event that will command undivided attention of the cricket crazy nation.
So it is but obvious that both Shah Rukh’s television show and the IPL cricket tournament will have an adverse effect on the films releasing during those times. And will take away the audience that might otherwise have bought tickets for entertainment purposes.
Well, on a serious note, its only the makers (who have cinematically inferior products) and media hyped stars who need to worry and will crib about these factors for the failure of their projects. There have been countless instances when audiences have thronged to the theatres despite the most hyped events. But then on many of those occasions, King Khan was on the right side of the fence for Bollywood!
Wow some people like to live in denial…Shah Rukh may be the most popular but he doesnt have half the intelligence and taste that Aamir has, dont even compare him to a guy who has been a superstar since the 70s…Amitabh Bachchan….has Shah Rukh been able to play a double roll…NO..has he done films like deewar, sharaabi, sholay, Black, to name a few. Has he been able to do play character instead of doing his irritating predictable SRk isms…
Grant it e cant connect with people at times and he did act well in DDLJ, Swades and Chak de, but that credit goes to the directors as well for telling him to stop doing the Srk isms…
Shah rukh is very very competitive he cannot take if someone i better than him, and he knows he cannot compete with Amitabh and Aamir talent wose so he plays his safe cards and does is run of the mill romantic comedies which will make more n more girls fall in love with this image…
He is like Elvis a great entertainer, and Tom Cruise great box office collections, but he cannot compete with talents like Marlon Brado, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Anthony Hopkins, Leonardo, Matt Damon…The indian actors who are equally talented to them are Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan (koi mill gaya, Dhoom2, JodhaAkbar) and Abhishek Bachchan (Guru, Yuva, Sarkar)
Watch these guys films before thinking Shah Rukh is the best, ill bet you will get insecure about your choice like Srk always does…
